Pèppoli
Pèppoli is located in the heart of the Chianti Classico area, less than 5 km from the famous Tignanello. In spite of its East-North-East orientation, it enjoys a very favourable microclimate, because it lies in a small, sheltered valley. What is more, the soils are rich in minerals, which partly explains the aromatic complexity of the wines, that are both floral and fruity.
The estate has 100 hectares under vines, half of which are planted with sangiovese, the rest being divided between merlot, shiraz et malvasia. The Antinori bought the estate in 1985.
Since 2013, the Pèppoli wines are vinified in the state-of-the-art cellars of Antinori nel Chianti Classico, in San Casciano Val di Pesa. Most of the wines are aged in large Slavonian oak vats, the rest in stainless steel tanks.
