Pere Ventura, terroir and future

30-07-2020

Pere Ventura is deeply rooted in his native Penedès, which gives him a special perspective on the future of this region, a keen desire to preserve and perpetuate it. A token of this vision is his purchase of the legendary Can Bas estate, its conversion to organic farming and its no-sulphur-added wines. Pere aims to leave the land in a healthier and better shape to the future generations.

The Cava Pere Ventura Tresor Organic 2014 is a good example of his organic wines. Youthful, fresh and refined, with tangerine notes on the nose, a very subtle effervescence on the palate, it draws its elegance from the classical local mix of Xarello, Parellada et Macabeo.

Put to the test!

Pere is expecting with some impatience the return of his no-sulphur-added Xarello from its trip on a ship around the world. This still white wine from Can Bas (Code P3), is made from grapes of the La Romana p3 parcel. In two months’ time, Père will see if D’Origen has resisted the trial.

Tasted before its departure, D’Origen P3 2015 showed very pure, juicy and fresh notes of pear, underlined by the delicate bitterness of lemon. Let’s hope it has kept its promise!
